A clear focus protects sensitive areas

In case of a major oil spill incident, it is not possible to protect long stretches of shoreline. Priorities for protection of the most sensitive areas likely to be affected need to be established. A mapping of these sensitive areas and an analysis of their relative sensitivity to the effect of oil constitute an essential tool for the deployment of appropriate resources at the right location in a timely manner.

Knowing which areas are most vulnerable means that resources can be located close to them for critical reaction times. Visual icons are used to highlight priority areas in terms of ecological and socioeconomic impacts.

Our sensitivity maps are developed according to the international standard index for coastal vulnerability, the Environmental Sensitivity Index (E.S.I.) maintained by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (N.O.A.A). Click here to see an example of ESI Maps

We can deliver your maps to you on paper, electronically in industry standard Graphical Information System (GIS) formats or even integrate them into a web-based solution for easy access by your key project stakeholders.
